Nov. Meeting Minutes

For those that couldn't make it, here are the minutes from the membership meeting Nov. 10th. As a reminder, Jim Wilkas family is looking to sell some of his collection and Kim Symmonds wants to thin his fleet as well.

Meeting called to order:  7:40 P.M

  OLD BUSINESS

  • Minutes from last meeting read and accepted
  • Treasurer’s report:
    • Starting balance: $6020.70
    • Income:
      • $3,050.79 in receipts
        • $77.00 50-50
        • $16 donations
        • $480 dues
        • $2,477.79 CD matures
    • Disbursements:
      •  $415.64 in disbursements
        • $212.18 Field Maintenance
        • $15 refreshments
        • $50 charter and insurance
        • $15 refreshments
        • $277.18 total disbursements
    • Current balance - checkbook: $8,794.31
    • CDs $1,079.51
    • Total club assets:  $9,873.82
    • Treasurer’s report accepted
  • Reviewed membership roster:
    • 2011: 72 members: 40 adult, 17 seniors, 2 lifetime, 6 juniors, 7 officers (57 adult/senior)
    • 2010: 73 members: 3 juniors, 21 seniors, 45 adults (66 adult/senior)
    • 2009: 64 seniors and adults
    • 2008: 78 seniors and adults
  • Field:
    • Field in good shape.
    • Buddy box events were rained out.
    • ½” mud over everything at the field and it smelled bad as a result of the hurricane.  Field was closed for anniversary of 9/11.  To this day walk-ins are not permitted.
    • We were working with Vinny for a work detail, and then came the snow storm.
    • 3 umbrellas left.
    • No injuries or accidents.
    • Jim Wilkas planes are for sale as one large package, if anyone is interested contact Gene.

NEW BUSINESS

Field:

  • New locks and keys will be issued for 2012 after the cleanup.
  • We will rotate in new umbrellas as needed.
  • Picnic:
  • We will have a signup sheet for the January meeting for volunteers for the picnic.
  • If there is not enough help for the picnic then we will have fun flys every 3 weeks or so.
  •  
    • We are on track for zero turn mower, we can get about one more season out of our present tractor.
  • Membership:
    • No dues increase for 2012.
  • Nominations:
    • No nominations offered during this meeting.
    • Nominations open until next meeting.
  • Financial
    • Bill won the RC Hobbies and More gift certificate, I will mail it to him.
    • $55 received from the 50-50 raffle.

 

Meeting adjourned at 8:02 P.M.

 

Field Condition

The entire Thomaston Dam Recreation Area remains closed. There has been no word of any change. Here is the link to the Army Corp. Thomaston Dam website  for more information. Also, here is the official press release,click HERE to read it.
