Some were wondering the status of my dc-3/c-47 build, so, here are a couple of pictures of its current state. I am in the process of wiring and plumbing the wing so that the top of it can be sheeted. Just rested fuselage on wing for pictures.

It has been a full year since I started this build and things have been progressing nicely. A few more pics of inside of wing and where I'm at at the present time.

After a long winter and a few other projects, I got the c-47 off the shelf. Today I was able to primer the fuselage.
Still alot of work to do, maybe it will be ready by the fourth of July...

Well, here we are. Almost 3 years later and I think im finally ready to paint the dc3/c47. only problem is, I'm undecided as to what scheme to paint it in. I have the Squadron Publications C-47 book and there is a few different schemes to do. WWII with invasion stripes, standard issue od green with basic stars and bars, or as CIA Air America natural sky grey....hmmmm

I decided on a Second World War scheme. The paint is Behr Flat Exterior Latex. I brought a piece of covering to home depot and had them match the Olive Drab Green. I used an off the shelf color for the bottom called Sparrow Grey. Spayed it with an HVLP gun at about 25psi with Floetrol added to the paint and thinned with windshield washer fluid.
I am happy with the results so far. I need to add striping and other details then I will clear coat it. Getting close to finishing now!
