We are located at the base Thomaston Dam in the Leadmine Brook Recreation Area. The entrance is directly across from Minor Rd. off of RTE 222 in Thomaston, CT.

From Rt. 4 in Harwinton
From Rt. 4 take Locust Road to Plymouth Road. Follow Plymouth Road past the CT. DEP Western District Headquarters (big windmill). Continue on Plymouth road past the Harwinton/Plymouth Town Line. Take a right onto Minor Road. Follow Minor Road all the way to the stop sign at the very bottom of the hill. You are now at the intersection with Rt. 222. The entrance gate to the Thomaston Dam Leadmine Brook Area is directly across from you. Enter the Leadmine Brook Area and follow the road to the bottom of the hill. Go right across the old bridge. Go left at the restroom immediately after the bridge. You are now entering the flying field.
From Rt. 6 in Terryville
At Terryville Chevrolet take No. Harwinton Avenue. Take a left at the end of the straight portion of the road and then take an immediate right at the Industrial Park sign. Go straight through the 4-way stop sign at Preston road and continue on to Minor Road on the left. Take a left onto Minor Road. Follow Minor Road all the way to the stop sign at the very bottom of the hill. You are now at the intersection with Rt. 222. The entrance gate to the Thomaston Dam Leadmine Brook Area is directly across from you. Enter the Leadmine Brook Area and follow the road to the bottom of the hill. Go right across the old bridge. Go left at the restroom immediately after the bridge. You are now entering the flying field.
From Rt. 8 South
Take exit 40. Turn left off the exit onto Rt. 222. Stay on Rt. 222 past the Thomaston Dam. The entrance gate to the Leadmine Brook Area will be on your left directly across from Minor Road. Enter the Leadmine Brook Area and follow the road to the bottom of the hill. Go right across the old bridge. Go left at the restroom immediately after the bridge. You are now entering the flying field.
From Rt. 8 North
Take exit 39. Turn left off the exit onto Rt. 6. Bear right onto Rt. 222 at the Gazebo just as you are entering the center of Thomaston. Stay on Rt. 222 past the Thomaston Dam. The entrance gate to the Leadmine Brook Area will be on your left directly across from Minor Road. Enter the Leadmine Brook Area and follow the road to the bottom of the hill. Go right across the old bridge. Go left at the restroom immediately after the bridge. You are now entering the flying field.
